About us

Four voices. Plenty of personality.

We combine the ring of barbershop harmony with the kind of chemistry that makes an audience feel like part of the show.

Our Story

Harmony Brought Us Together

Flirts n Skirts being goofy

Flirts N Skirts was formed in January 2024, though the roots of the quartet go back a little further.

Before Flirts N Skirts, Becca, Todd, and Mike sang together in another quartet, with Becca on tenor, Todd on lead, and Mike on baritone. When that quartet came to an end due to the health concerns of the bass singer, the three of them began looking ahead to what might come next.

As Singing Valentines season approached, they invited Jamie to join them for a few performances in February 2024. Jamie had taken a lengthy break from barbershop singing and, with an already busy schedule, initially planned to participate only for a handful of rehearsals and the Valentine's performances.

It didn't take long for that plan to change.

After just a few rehearsals, the four singers discovered something special. The voices blended naturally, the chemistry was undeniable, and what began as a short-term project quickly became a permanent quartet. Flirts N Skirts was officially born.

Since then, the quartet has enjoyed opportunities to perform for a wide variety of audiences throughout Wisconsin. From Christmas shows and nursing homes to Singing Valentines and community performances, Flirts N Skirts has shared its unique blend of close harmony and lighthearted fun with audiences of all ages. The quartet has also appeared alongside Barbershop Harmony Society chapters including Heart of Harmony in West Allis, Wisconsin, and the Clipper City Chordsmen in Manitowoc, Wisconsin.

In the fall of 2025, Flirts N Skirts stepped onto the contest stage for the first time as a mixed quartet. The experience only increased the quartet's enthusiasm for performing and improving, and the group looks forward to returning to competition in October 2026.

Voices sweet. Sass on repeat.

Meet the singers

The quartet

Tenor

Jamie Kennow

Jamie has been involved in barbershop harmony for most of her adult life and, despite repeated requests, contributed absolutely nothing to the writing of this bio. A former music educator turned real estate agent, she first crossed paths with Todd in 2018 while coaching one of his quartets, and the two quickly developed the kind of sibling relationship where he calls her "kid" and she politely ignores the fact that she's older. At approximately 5'2", Jamie may be the smallest member of the quartet, but she more than makes up for it with a big heart, quick wit, deep faith, and enough musical experience to keep the rest of the group pointed in the right direction. Between life with her husband Pete, her children Olin and Soren, her beloved dogs, countless plants that somehow remain alive, and a weekly Bible study with Becca and Todd, Jamie continues to prove that kindness and joy are every bit as contagious as a ringing chord.

Lead

Becca Wollin

Becca is the baby of the quartet, both in age and barbershop experience, having joined the hobby just a few years ago. After more than 12 years of persistent encouragement (and perhaps mild harassment) from her husband, she finally agreed to try barbershop and quickly discovered she was surrounded by people who considered arguing about vowels a recreational activity. A lifelong singer, she regularly leads worship at church and comes from a family where singing is simply what people do. Between a full-time corporate career, helping run Vet and Daughter, supporting stepchildren Emmalee, Todd II, and Tanner, loving on fur-babies Hartlee, Harper, and Hudson, and serving Jesus every step of the way, Becca somehow manages to keep showing up to rehearsal, which the rest of the quartet considers one of God's minor miracles.

Baritone

Mike Fricke

Mike is a second-generation barbershopper from Manitowoc, Wisconsin, where he was apparently raised on a steady diet of seventh chords and vocal overtones by his father Bob and brother Billy. He teaches biology by day, meaning every quartet rehearsal has a roughly 50% chance of turning into an impromptu lecture on the respiratory system, ear anatomy, why the human larynx works, why the chord didn't lock, or why the arranger chose that particular voicing. When not teaching, he can usually be found lifting weights, playing trumpet, arranging songs, arranging different songs, revising previously arranged songs, or arranging a song simply because it happened to exist. Mike is married to Natasha and has two children, Claire and Jacob, who may someday learn that their father has spent a significant portion of his life explaining both chord inversions and mitochondria to unsuspecting singers.

Bass

Todd Wollin

Todd has been singing barbershop long enough to remember when contest manuals were carved on stone tablets and tags were traded by candlelight. His quartet experience includes Patchwork, Spontaneous Harmonic Combustion, Sound Design, Sound Decision, Vocal Network, Sonix, No Pun Intended, and 3 Flirts and a Skirt, along with several thousand hours spent arguing about vowel matching, chasing lock-and-ring, and pretending not to care about score sheets. He has been married to Becca since 2010, and together they finally managed to turn more than a decade of gentle persuasion into a successful barbershop recruitment effort. When not singing, Todd can often be found cataloging obscure barbershop trivia, arranging music, or studying Scripture. He remains convinced that the perfect barbershop chord exists and fully intends to find it someday, even if it means holding the note until everyone else passes out.
